about ICCS 2007 :
"Advancing Science and Society through Computation"
Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China
May 27-30, 2007
The International Conference on Computational Science 2007 (ICCS 2007) aims to bring together researchers and scientists from mathematics and computer science as basic computing disciplines, researchers from various application areas who are pioneering advanced application of computational methods to sciences such as physics, chemistry, life sciences, and engineering, arts and humanitarian fields, along with software developers and vendors, to discuss problems and solutions in the area, to identify new issues, and to shape future directions for research, as well as to help industrial users apply various advanced computational techniques.
You are invited to submit a paper and/or a proposal to organize a workshop. Please see the Call for Papers for paper submission information, and Call for Workshop Proposals for more information. All accepted papers will be printed in the conference proceedings, published by Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series. A selected number of papers will also be published as special issues of appropriate journals.
ICCS 2007 is the seventh in the series of highly successful conferences: ICCS 2006 in Reading, UK, ICCS 2005 in Atlanta,  ICCS 2004 in Krakow, Poland; ICCS 2003 held simultaneously in Melbourne, Australia and St. Petersburg, Russia, ICCS 2002 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and ICCS 2001 in San Francisco, USA. Since its beginnings in 2001, ICCS has attracted increasingly higher quality and numbers of attendees and papers. Average attendance each year is about 500 participants. With a typical acceptance rate of 35% based on peer reviews, over 300 high quality papers are published and presented at each ICCS event. These proceedings series have become a major intellectual resource for computational science researchers and serve to both define and advance the state of the field.
The theme for ICCS 2007 in Beijing, is "Advancing Science and Society through Computation", to mark several decades of progress in computational science theory and practice, leading to greatly improved applications in science. This conference will be a unique event focusing on recent developments in novel methods and modelling of complex systems for diverse areas of science, scalable scientific algorithms, advanced software tools, computational grids, advanced numerical methods, and novel application areas where the above novel models, algorithms and tools can be efficiently applied such as physical systems, computational and systems biology, environmental systems, finance, and others. We look forward to welcoming you to this exciting event!
